The Salvation Army service unit in Greene County has announced that it has raised $7,898.51 towards its goal of $7,000 for the year. This was the result of two fundraisers; Christmas in July netted $2,533.33 and the Red Kettle Campaign brought in $5,365.18. People can still donate by dropping off a donation at Home State Bank anytime.
The Greene County unit expressed its appreciation to Fareway and Hy-Vee for allowing the bell ringers to use their stores. Also, a thank you goes to A&W, Hy-Vee Gas, Syngenta, and Bauer Built for hosting the first year of the “traveling kettle”.
Ninety percent of the money received in Greene County will be spent in Greene County to help families and individuals needing assistance with essential human needs. The Greene County Salvation Army service unit thanked all who support the work of the Salvation Army service unit in Greene County.
