Ram girls, boys bowlers both pick up wins

They may have been over different teams, but both the Greene County Rams girls’ and boys’ bowling teams earned wins last week.

In their first meet of the week, both Rams teams took on Fort Dodge Jan. 20. The girls ultimately fell by a score of 1,919-1,730, but the boys were able to pick up a win 2,830-2,655. The Rams girls did have another meet, which was against Carroll Jan. 23, and they were able to win that one in a close one, 1,711-1,706.

Against Fort Dodge, Allison Fields took the high game for the Rams with 161, Rozella Helms had a 133, Hayleigh Rivera had a 129, Shelby Finley had a 107, Trinity Hull had a 99, and Elizabeth Long had an 83. Fields had the most pins for the Rams with 318, Rivera had 251, Helms had 215, Finley had 203, Hull had 194, and Long had 164.

For the boys against Fort Dodge, Teagan Chisholm had the high game with a 218, Trystan Cummings had a 203, Chase Fecher had a 192, Calvin Fields had a 191, Ryan Bills had a 186, and Jacob Rumley had a 167. Chisholm had the most pins at the meet, with 428, Cummings had 380, Fecher had 371, Fields had 369, Bills had 336, and Rumley had 325.

In their second meet of the week, the Rams girls faced the Carroll Tigers, where they won 1,711-1706. Fields took the high game for the Rams with a 147, Rivera had a 120, Hull had a 120, Helms had a 105, Finley had a 101, and Long had a 97. Fields took the most pins for the Rams, with 280, Rivera had 232, Hull had 229, Helms had 207, Finley had 198, and Long had 173.

For the teams so far this year, Allison Fields holds the highest game overall for the Rams girls with a 171 and for the boys Jacob Rumley has the high game overall with a 242.  Shelby Finley is just behind Fields for the girls with a high game of 166 and for the boys Chase Fecher has the second-highest game with a 234.            

For the girls, Fields holds the highest score per game with an average of 146 and Chase Fecher holds that honor for the boys averaging 203.21 per game. 

This week, the Rams were expected to continue their season on Monday as both teams were to face off against OABCIG at Spare Time Lanes and Lounge in Jefferson.

After that, there will be a Monarch Baker Tournament at Lucky Lanes Bowling in Denison on Feb. 6. Both Rams teams will also be facing off against the Carroll Tigers at the Spare Time Lanes and Lounge in Jefferson on Feb. 13 beginning at 4 pm.
