“A Christmas Carol,” hot beverages, caroling, and Santa Claus
The public is invited to celebrate the holiday season at “A Community Theater Christmas”, Saturday, Dec. 21, at 7 pm at Greene County High School, hosted by the Community Players of Greene County.
The evening will begin with a staged reading of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” in the auditorium. Nick Lehman is reading the role of Bob Cratchit while Darren Jackson is Ebenezer Scrooge.
The reading will be followed by a complimentary coffee/tea/hot chocolate bar that has been generously donated by Greene Bean Coffee. Caroling will be led by Chad Elliott and Ol’ Saint Nick will visit with children.
There is no admission charge. Free will donations will be accepted, with half the funds going to support the Community Player’s future productions, and half going to fund an annual performing arts scholarship. The scholarship will be presented each May to a Greene County graduating senior who plans to pursue a career path in performing arts, or who has been active in performing arts throughout high school. The scholarship will be awarded for the first time in May 2025.
“Come out and celebrate community and Christmas with us,” a Community Players spokesperson said.
