The Town and Country Band will present Music of the Season Saturday, Dec. 7, at 7 pm at the Paton-Churdan school auditorium in Churdan, and again Sunday, Dec. 8, at 3:30 pm at Central Christian Church in Jefferson.
The Sunday concert will conclude the Church Christmas Tour, slated to begin at 2 pm. First Baptist, First Presbyterian, First United Methodist, Christ Lutheran and Central Christian, all in Jefferson, will welcome the community to see the holiday decorations. Participants who visit all five churches and get a stamp on their “passport” will be eligible for a drawing at the conclusion of the concert.
The band will perform a variety of Christmas music, with familiar carols in swing and jazz settings, an arrangement that pairs “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” with “Auld Lang Syne,” “A Tuba Christmas” featuring West Anderson and the low brass section, and more.
The band is directed by Victoria Anderson and includes musicians ranging in age from almost teens to well past retired, from all over Greene County and beyond.
All are welcome. Free will donations for the band will be gratefully accepted.
