GJ library KidZone reading program begins Oct. 7

The Grand Junction Public Library KidZone fall reading program gets underway Monday, Oct. 7, at the library. The reading and activity program for kids ages 10 and younger will be from 2:30 to 3:30 pm. A Lego Club program for older students (11 and older) will be from 4 to 5 pm at the library.

The program will be on the early out days (Mondays) of Greene County Schools in October and November. It will take a break and then resume in winter.

The second Kids Night will be Saturday, Oct. 12, from 6 to 8:30 pm at the Grand Junction Community Center. Each Kids Night will feature games, snacks and a movie. The theme of the first Kids Night on Sept. 14 was football and featured the comedy movie, “Little Giants,” about a youth football team. The theme of the Oct. 12 Kids Night is Halloween with a movie, hot dogs, snacks and games.

Both programs are free. All area children are invited. For more information, contact the Grand Junction public library at 515-738-2506 or check the library’s website (grandjunction.lib.ia.us) or Facebook page, Grand Junction IA Public Library – GJPL.
