A memorial service for Karma Hennigar, age 93, will be held October 1, 2024, at First Presbyterian Church, in Jefferson. Interment will be at Paton Township Cemetery.
Karma Jean (Temple) Hennigar passed away September 22, 2024, at the age of 93 years. She was born August 4, 1931, to Albert and Florence (Roberts) Temple of Paton. Karma was raised in the Paton area. She graduated from Paton High School in 1949.
Following graduation, she worked at Equitable Life in Des Moines. Later, she worked in several cafes in the Jefferson area, including the Redwood. She also worked at White Consolidated/Electrolux (Frigidaire) for 21 years.
Karma loved to garden, especially enjoying the blooming flowers. She loved her church, First Presbyterian Church in Paton. She enjoyed her classmates and special friends.
Karma loved her husband Donn, who died September 10, 2013. Others who preceded her in death were her parents; brothers Dennis and Keith; and niece Amy.
She loved her children: Sheryl Peterson (Mark M.), Connie (Peter) Elliott, Kristine Carrick, Jan (Dick) Whitver, Jeff Shorey, Ranae McDermott, and Brenda Holtke (Jerry E.). She loved her 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
