Eric James Eliserio, aged 36, passed away August 27, 2024, surrounded by his friends and family.
Eric was born on May 28, 1988, in Ames. He grew up and made his home in Jefferson. He was a devoted and loving father, raising his two sons, Nathan and James, in Jefferson with his fiancée, Haley Hitchcock, and first wife, Stephanie Eliserio.
Eric was a skilled mechanic with a passion for motorcycles. He was a Harley-Davidson certified technician and graduated from the Motorcycle Maintenance Institute located in Phoenix, AZ. Always wanting to help others and serve his community, Eric joined the Jefferson fire department, where he proudly served as a volunteer firefighter for the last 12 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed racing RC cars with his family and attending concerts with his fiancée and friends.
Eric is survived by his loving fiancée, Haley; his sons Nathan and James; his first wife Stephanie; his parents Suzanne Eliserio and Robert Eliserio; his grandmother Anne Gingery; his siblings Daniel and Julie Eliserio; and his nephew Ezra Alger. He is preceded in death by his grandfather Jim Gingery.
A public visitation will be held Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024, from 1 to 4 pm at Slininger-Schroeder Funeral Home in Jefferson. It was Eric’s wish that attendees wear their favorite band or Harley shirt, and for all those who can, please ride your Harleys.
