Time to file for Extension Council, hospital board, Soil and Water Commission, township offices
It is time to file nomination papers for township offices, Ag Extension Council, hospital board and Soil and Water Commission.
Greene County auditor Billie Jo Hoskins says there are four seats to be elected on the Greene County Extension Council. The terms of Shari Minnehan, Dustin Fouch, Scott Weber and Brent Badger expire this year. Also on the ballot is a vacancy. Bruce Bahnson resigned and was replaced by Julia Glawe. A minimum of 25 signatures are needed to place a name on the ballot.
There are four seats expiring on the Greene County Medical Center board of trustees. The terms of Kim Bates, Jim Schleisman, Doug Hawn and Angie Jewett are ending. To run for this office, a minimum of 50 signatures are needed.
Nominating petitions for Soil and Water Conservation Commission need at least 25 signatures. The terms of Fred Long, Susan Cort and Jeff J. Pudenz expire.
Hoskins says that township trustees only need to file an Affidavit of Candidacy. The terms expiring are: Dawson Township, David Cunningham and Keith Walker; Franklin Township, Chris Henning and Tom Wind; Grant Township, Doug Carman and Ann Wenthold; Greenbrier Township, Dan Frederick and Jeff Hughes; Highland Township, Jane Borkowski and Tim Towers; Junction Township, Jeff Gilley and Joe Gannon; Kendrick Township, Denton Wenger and Don Ferguson; Scranton Township, Neal Hoyt and Allen Robson; Washington Township, Greg Jacobs and Neil Dollinger; and Willow Township, Curt Emery and Shannon Obert.
Hoskins notes that the deadline to submit nomination papers for any of these local entities is Wednesday, Aug. 28, at 5 p.m.
Hoskins noted anyone who wants to run a non-party affiliate for any of the elected county positions of Districts 1, 4 and 5 for supervisors, as well as county sheriff or auditor have the same filing deadline. A minimum of 50 signatures are required for any of those offices.
