The golden days of radio will return again next month when the Community Players of Greene County reprise “Gather ‘Round the Radio” at Spring Lake Park.
Old-time radio shows will be performed Saturday, Aug. 24, at 5 pm at Spring Lake Park’s lakeside shelter house.
Players’ director Josh Tuel is looking for actors, sound effects creators, and technical help. There is no memorization required and limited rehearsal time.
Selections will be from Fibber McGee and Molly, The Bickersons, and Abbott and Costello’s “Who’s on First.”
Informational meetings are slated for Tuesday, July 9, and Wednesday, July 10, at 6:30 pm at the Masonic lodge, 120 N. Wilson, in Jefferson. Tuel will share information about the production and interested persons can read from the scripts to help determine roles.
Interested persons who cannot attend either of the meetings can contact Tuel at 515-370-0919 to arrange another time.
