Greene County track and field athletes took part in the state meet last week at Drake Stadium, putting an exciting cap on a strong season for the Rams.
The top placer for the Rams was Isaac Carman, finishing 10th in the Class 2A discus throw with a final distance of 149-03. Kaycee Pittman had a personal record in the 800 meter run, finishing 15th with a time of 2:25.12.
Emma Ewalt took 21st in the 2A girls discus throw, tossing for a distance of 99-08. Nick Madsen finished 21st in the preliminary 200 meter dash with a time of 22.96, not advancing to the finals.
For relays, the boys 4×800 meter team finished 15th with a school best time of 8:19.88, with runners Noah Hinote, Gavyn Winters, Nick Stream and Drew Wolterman.
The girls 1600 meter sprint medley placed 17th after runners Addison Gannon, Kaylee Stalder, Savannah Lansman and Kaycee Pittman finished in 4:23.47. The boys sprint medley took 22nd with a time of 3:42.49, runners being Trey Schilling, Broc Stream, Nick Madsen and Drew Wolterman.
The 4×100 meter relay team took 18th in the preliminary contest, with a season best time of 44.30 seconds. T. Schilling, Nathan Behne, B. Stream and N. Madsen ran the race. ~courtesy of The Scranton Journal
