The annual Trick or Treat Around the Square is slated for Thursday, Oct. 26, in Jefferson.
The fun starts with a Halloween party from 3:45 to 5 pm at the Greene County Community Center. There will be games and prizes. Costumes are encouraged. There is no charge, but parents are encouraged to register their children for the party by Oct. 23. Scan the QR code for the easiest registration, or visit the Community Center at 204 W. Harrison St.
Spook the Loop, trick-or-treating at businesses around the square, will take place from 4:30 to 6 pm. Trick-or-treaters should go counterclockwise. Parents can use “Spook the Loop” #trickortreatonthesquare on social media.
Children will enjoy an interactive story skit of “Bruce and the Legend of Soggy Hallow” from 5 to 6:30 pm at the Jefferson public library. Performances will start every 20 minutes in the basement meeting room, and there will be treats and games upstairs between shows. The skit will be performed by library staff and community volunteers.
The evening will wrap up with a concert presented by the Greene County Middle School band at 7 pm in the Greene County High School auditorium.
Jefferson Matters, the Jefferson park and recreation department, the Jefferson public library, businesses from around Greene County and Greene County Middle School students are collaborating on Trick or Treat Around the Square.
