The Studio hair salon is a recipient of a $3,500 grant from the Jefferson Wants You incentive fund.
The Studio is owned and operated by Kelsie Wearmouth and her partner Chuck Foster. The salon will offer haircuts, highlighting, root color, balayage, bright colors, curly haircuts, men’s cuts, hair extensions, kids’ cuts, up-styles, perms and facial waxing.
The Studio is located at 110 W Lincoln Way, most recently the office of Jefferson Matters: Main Street. The building is owned by Nikki Uebel. Many improvements have been made to the exterior of the building, including painting the tile roof and windows. The interior has fresh paint with beautiful antique furniture refurbished for the salon’s use. Wearmouth invites residents to stop in to meet her and take a look. Plans for a Grand Opening with a ribbon cutting are in the works.
Wearmouth previously worked in Ames, and many of her clients are following her to her new location. Wearmouth said her clients are impressed with what Jefferson has to offer.
“It is very important to be connected to other businesses in town so they can support one another. Helping to bring people to Jefferson is everyone’s goal, so knowing the other business owners is crucial for that,” she said.
She looks forward to being involved as a volunteer in the community where they now have made their home.
