Congresswoman Cindy Axne, who represents Iowa’s Third Congressional District, which now includes Greene County, will be in Jefferson Wednesday afternoon.
Axne will meet and greet constituents at Greene Bean Coffee at 1 pm. Her visit will continue at the Mahanay Memorial Carillon Tower at 2 pm. Depending on the weather, conversation will continue on the courthouse plaza or at the Welcome Center at Thomas Jefferson Gardens.
She plans to meet at 3 pm with Jefferson and elected officials and city administrator Mike Palmer at 3 pm at the municipal building.
Axne hopes specifically to hear about economic development and how Congress can assist small, rural communities grow and prosper.
