Scranton United Charity drive under way

The Scranton United Charity fund drive is underway with the donor cards ready to be mailed in the near future.

Residents in the Scranton community will receive a letter in their mail asking for a donation.

For many of the organizations, this is the only fund drive of the year. Organizers ask that residents give generously to assist in funding the groups who benefit the Scranton community with their activities.

Charities listed on the donor card are: Greene County Food Pantry (ARC), Community Opportunities, Scranton Little League, Scranton Kids Fishing Day, Scranton Community Center, Scranton fire department, Scranton public library, Scranton park & rec, Scranton Sweet Treats, and local emergency / disaster funds.

Please mark the amount of your donation for each charity and enclose a check for the total amount. Keep the bottom of the card as your receipt.

Mail the donation to PO Box 308, Scranton, IA 51462, by Oct. 1 of this year. ~courtesy of The Scranton Journal
