Employees at Greene County Medical Center have teamed up to raise funds for the Greene County Relay for Life, slated for Thursday, July 26.
From now through July 14 a variety of curated gift baskets are for sale by silent auction in the main lobby of the medical center. Community members are welcome to bid on the baskets, but are reminded that visitors must wear facemasks and go through a brief Covid screening upon entering.
The basket auction is organized by the medical center’s Engagement Committee and Community Relations department.
The Relay for Life will be held on the southeast corner of the courthouse grounds. A survivor welcome and photo will be done at the Greene County Historical Museum at 4 pm, with the survivor/caregiver walk following on the path at Thomas Jefferson Gardens. Daylight “luminaria” will line the walking path.
Volunteers will serve a meal of Italian grilled chicken sandwiches or tenderloin with chips and water donated by HyVee and cookies donated by Junkyard Cafe from 4:30 pm or until the food runs out. A free will donation will be accepted.
The Town & Country Band will entertain Relay attendees at 5:30. Lawn chairs are suggested.
The Relay for Life is being held in conjunction with the Greene County farmers market.
