The Greene County boys soccer team picked up two wins last week for the last full week of regular season play.
On May 10, the Rams faced the Nevada Cubs. Greene County scored one goal in the first half, followed by one in the second. The Cubs scored no goals in the first, but were able to get two balls in the net in the second half, forcing overtime. The Rams got one last point in overtime, winning the game 3-2.
Gessesr Gutierres was responsible for all three Ram goals, with an assist from Jack Hansen. Goalie Gabe Ebersole had 15 saves for the Rams.
On Friday, the Rams traveled to Wall Lake to face the East Sac County Raiders. Each team scored a goal in the first half, with the Rams scoring three more in the second half while holding the Raiders scoreless. The Rams took the game 4-1.
Gutierres scored three of the goals for the Rams, Brenner Gallagher scoring the fourth. Ebersole contributed five saves as goalie.
The Rams were scheduled to face Panorama on Monday, and Chariton on Thursday for the first round of substate play.
