More cooking classes at career academy

Iowa Central and the Greene County Career Academy invite to public the career academy culinary kitchen for upcoming cooking classes taught by local chefs. 


The first class is “Get Your Gluten On” and will be held on Tuesday, May 10, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm in the career academy culinary kitchen. Chef Tim Christensen will teach participants how to make homemade bread and homemade pizza in the same class.

Chef D, Denise Moranville, will teach a “Take & Bake:  Breakfast Casseroles” on Wednesday, May 11, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. Participants will put together a Farmhouse Breakfast casserole and a French Toast casserole while Chef D shares tips and advice for daily cooking routines.

Cooks looking for a great chicken parmesan recipe will find one Wednesday, May 18, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm as they prepare a meal for four to “take and bake” at home. Participants will learn how to prepare their own homemade red sauce to pour over the breaded chicken breast and noodles for the perfect chicken parmesan dish. Chef D knows how to prepare roasted brussels sprouts that everyone will like.
