Ron Lehman, 1944 – 2022

Memorial services were held March 26 at 209 Main in Paton for Ronald LeRoy Lehman, 77, of Jefferson.

The Rev Rod Meyer, pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boxholm, offered words of comfort. Nick Lehman was soloist.

Honorary bearers were Ron’s Mesa coffee group and his Boxholm coffee group.  Interment was at the Paton Township Cemetery with military honors by an Army National Guard honor guard.

Ronald LeRoy Lehman, 77, of Jefferson passed away suddenly at his winter home in Mesa, AZ, on March 7, 2022.

Ron was born Nov. 14, 1944, to Harold and Maxine Lehman. He was later joined by a sister Carol and a brother Randy.  Ron’s childhood was spent on the family farm where they raised livestock and grains. His enjoyment of farming lasted through his lifetime, completing his last harvest before heading to Arizona this past fall.

Ron joined the Army National Guard Dec. 18, 1964, and was enrolled through Jan. 27, 1970. During this time, he worked at Juhl Feed Store in Dana where he met his future bride, Patricia Burkett.

Ron and Pat were married Dec. 4, 1965. The resided in rural Dana early in their marriage, eventually moving to the family farm where he spent many years farming alongside his father and brother.

Ron enjoyed a variety of activities including fishing in Canada with his friends for more than 30 years, farming with his family, spending time at coffee with his friends in Boxholm, and later in life, going to Arizona during the winter months to spend time with his special friends there.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Maxine Lehman, and his brother-in-law Kent Hanson.

Survivors include his wife Pat Lehman of Jefferson; brother Randy (Denise) Lehman of Paton; sister Carol Hanson of Springfield, MO; brother-in-law Bill Burkett of Jefferson; nieces and nephews Nick and Lindy Lehman and sons Parker and Mason, Lisa and Adam Ebersole and children Gabe and Makenna, Jowell and Lisa Hanson, and Janell and Brian McIntyre and children Zoe and Zachary; three special girls, Jannette Thrane, Jackie Morain and Jody Blair; other relatives; and many friends.

The family was assisted by Slininger-Schroeder Funeral Home of Jefferson.
