The Greene County High School jazz band will hold its inaugural Java & Jazz showcase Saturday, Feb. 19, at Greene County High School.
Thanks to a grant from BOOST, the concert will feature the Iowa Women’s Jazz Orchestra. Thanks to the generosity of Greene Bean Coffee, Java and Jazz will also feature free coffee for attendees.
Greene County students will perform their competition set at 3 pm, then play in collaborative jazz combos with professionals from the IWJO. Finally, the IWJO will perform an hour set at 4:30.
Proceeds will go to the band’s Disney trip next December as well as band equipment.
