Fall recital – The students of Janice Johnston performed their Spring Music Recital at the Rippey Community Center on Sunday, November 28, 2021.  There were solos on the piano and violin, with some playing both instruments. A violin trio was enjoyed, also.  Performing their selections were Daniel Cerveny, Ethan Hooper, Kathryn Kenyon, John Kenyon, Carilyn Kenyon, and Connor Kenyon.

A tasty soup supper with a variety of desserts was served by Ned Johnston and Mary Weaver. Those attending enjoyed visiting and renewing their friendships.

It’s always fun watching the beginners and those we have watched improve over the years. It made for a pleasant diversion on a nice Sunday afternoon.

Janice thanked the parents, their families, friends, Friends of Rippey and Rippey town council for their support of youth music education. She also acknowledged the families of Carson Griffith and Judy Lint for the gift of his piano for the Rippey Community Room in December, 2015. Their dedication to further music in our community is much appreciated.

Thanksgiving gathering – Jean Borgeson enjoyed Thanksgiving in Jamaica with her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Mel Borgeson. Mel’s mother, Pam Chance, was able to spend Wednesday afternoon and Thursday with her family and especially enjoyed the dogs and cats! Others attending were Mel’s cousin Travis Beam and his daughter,Abby, and a good friend of the family, Jerry Hester. There was plenty of food, reminiscing and laughter.
