Greene County district court, week ending Nov. 12

In Greene County district court Jessica Jo Peterson, 28, of Ogden was sentenced Nov. 10 to 10 years in prison after she pleaded guilty to a charge of burglary- second degree. The prison term was suspended and she was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Correctional Services for 2-5 years. Peterson was sentenced to two days in jail after pleading guilty to a charge of illegal possession of alprazolam. The jail term was also suspended. She was fined $1,000 with a $150 surcharge on the burglary charge. She was fined $315 with a $47.25 surcharge on the possession charge; the fine and surcharge were suspended. She must pay $1,699 restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees and $166.32 court costs. (Sentencing: Honorable Christopher C. Polking)

Joshua Abraham Solano, 25, of Guthrie Center was sentenced Nov. 12 to 18 days in jail after he pleaded guilty at arraignment to a charge of possession of methamphetamine. The jail term was suspended and he was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. He was fined $430 with a $64.50 surcharge. He must also pay $599.17 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $212.78 court costs. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)

Jon Mitchell Bushman, 44, of Scranton was sentenced to one year in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated- second offense. The jail time is consecutive to two other Greene County sentences. All but seven days of the jail time was suspended and he was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. Bushman was fined $1,875 with a $281.25 surcharge. He must pay victim restitution to be determined and $100 court costs. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Travis Frederick Venteicher, 38, of Grand Junction pleaded not guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana and operating under the influence. His trial date was set for March 1, 2022.

Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Ashley Marie McGrauth, 24, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver less than 50 kg; Nicholas Weber, 21, of Fort Dodge, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver less than 50 kg, and in a separate case, possession of marijuana- third or subsequent offense; and Humberto Garcia, 46, of Rio Grande City, TX, OWI- second offense.
