Services were held Friday, Sept. 30, at St Joseph Catholic Church in Jefferson for Natalie Mason, 41, of Jefferson.
The Rev John Gerald was celebrant of the Mass of the Resurrection. Soloist was Sheilah Pound, accompanied by Lois Last. Honorary bearers were Bradley Mason, Colton Mason and Melissa Minor.
Natalie Mason, age 41, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at her home in Jefferson on September 27, 2021. She and her twin Nicole were born July 21, 1980 in Carroll, the daughters of Mary (Naberhaus) and Bruce Grimm. Natalie and Nicole were baptized at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Carroll, Iowa.
In 1999, Natalie graduated from Johnston High School, where she played basketball and softball. She attended Des Moines Area Community College. Following college, Natalie got engaged to her high school sweetheart, Jeff Mason. After living in rural Minburn and Linden, they decided to make their home in Jefferson. They were married on Oct. 19, 2002, and were blessed with two boys: Brad, age 17, and Cole, age 14. Both boys have been active in sports and Scouts, and Natalie never missed an event. She loved spending time with family and friends.
Through the years, Natalie worked at Brooker and Company, Copeland Insurance, Eye Care Associates, P.C., and most recently at Central Iowa Family EyeCare until her heath began to fail.
Natalie was preceded in death by her grandparents Ila and Ray Grimm of Manning and Norbert Naberhaus of Carroll; and Jeff’s grandparents Charles and Dee Petty of Overland Park, KS, and Kenneth and Wilma Mason of Beattie, KS.
Survivors include her husband Jeff Mason of Jefferson; sons: Brad Mason and Cole Mason, both of Jefferson; parents Bruce and Mary Grimm of Manning; brother Jamie (April) Grimm of Johnston; sister Nicole (Troy) Kenney of Des Moines; grandmother Marcella Naberhaus of Carroll; father and mother-in-law Jerry and Susan Mason of Abilene, KS; brother-in-law Tim (Becky) Mason of Udall, KS; sister-in-law Katie Mason of Abilene, KS; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and many friends.
