Public health to administer Pfizer Covid vaccine boosters

Starting Tuesday, Sept. 28, Greene County Public Health will provide Pfizer booster doses for adults 65 years and older and individuals of specific at-risk groups starting Tuesday, Sept. 28.

The following individuals and specific at-risk groups qualify for a booster dose:


• Individuals 65 years and older and residents in long-term care settings should receive a booster shot of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months after their second dose.
• Individuals aged 50–64 years with underlying medical conditions should receive a booster shot of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months after their second dose.
• Individuals aged 18–49 years with underlying medical conditions may receive a booster shot of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months after their second dose based on their individual benefits and risks.
• Individuals aged 18-64 years who are at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional setting may receive a booster shot of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months after their second dose based on their individual benefits and risks.

This recommendation is for individuals who originally received the two-dose (primary) series of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine. The Pfizer booster dose is available by appointment only starting Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021.
