Gerald Allen Harrah, son of Woodrow Wilson Harrah and Lula Belle Adkins Harrah, was born November 16, 1936, in Stotesbury, MO. Jerry died at his home with his family by his side on September 14, 2021, at the age of 84 years. No public services are planned.
Jerry grew up in Missouri and Colorado and moved to Iowa at the age of 16. Jerry was united in marriage to Patricia Thompson in Omaha, NE, in 1967. They made their home in Jefferson, where Jerry worked for Midland Power for 32 years before retiring.
Jerry loved woodworking and working in his shop. He also enjoyed dancing and working in his yard. He loved spending time with his family.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; sons Randy Harrah and Steven Harrah; and his sister Cheryl Stampe.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Harrah of Jefferson; his children Tony (Lori) Harrah and Lori (Ken) Wheeler of Jefferson, Kurt Harrah of Tennessee, Brian (Wendy) Harrah of Arkansas, and Jody (Tim) Smith and Ken (Tina) Purvis of Florida; his brothers Richard Harrah of Waterloo, and Thomas (Marge) Harrah of Wisconsin; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends.
The family was assisted by Slininger-Schroeder Funeral Home, Jefferson.
