Walking bridge completed in Paton

Greene County conservation recently completed this walking bridge project next to the John Deere plant in Paton.

The bridge is part of a half-mile walking trail through the Vesta and Bill Dixon Wildlife Area. The 20-acre wooded area east of the John Deere plant on the east edge of Paton was given to Greene County four years ago by the children of Vesta and Bill Dixon.

Funding for the bridge was through a $30,000 Greene County Community Foundation grant and $30,000 from the John Deere Foundation. The Greene County secondary road department provided the site preparation and finish work.

The city of Paton had built a sidewalk from Paton to the area last year.
