History Boy Theatre brings live theater back to Kelso Park

History Boy Theatre Company is preparing a family-friendly musical, Burnt Part Boys. It will be performed outdoors in Kelso Park (608 S. Walnut St in Jefferson) on June 18, 19 and 20 at 8 pm, with gates opening at 7. It will also be performed at Graham Park in Carroll on June 26 and 27. 

The Burnt Part Boys, directed by Robby Pedersen and Samantha Schmidt and produced by Christina Rickheim and Schmidt, is a story about a group of teenage boys on the brink of adulthood, setting out on a life-altering journey to the coal mine that took their fathers’ lives. Among them are two brothers, one determined to put a stop to the mine reopening and the other to stop him before it’s too late.

Cast members include Madison Hall, Michael Kennedy, Madeline Parrott, Quill Bardole, Josey Weaver, Michael Howland, Dave Heupel, Robby Pedersen and Jacob Hanson. The tech crew is Clay Ross, Elizabeth Williams, Joyce Kurth, Austyn Smith and Megan Harms.
