The Marchant Memorial Library in Scranton will soon be looking for at least one new board member to serve on its board of trustees. The trustees meet the second Monday of the month at 6 p.m. for approximately one hour and occasionally at other times.
The library board of trustees works with the library director to plan the library’s budget, plan for the future, and work on activities at the library. The library board of trustees help to ensure the library remains well funded, well managed, and well used.
Potential trustees must be appointed by the Scranton mayor and approved by the city council.
Interested persons can stop in at the library to pick up an application form. The staff would be happy to answer any questions about the position. ~courtesy of The Scranton Journal
