The Mahanay Memorial Carillon Tower and Jefferson Matters: A Main Street & Chamber Community received awards for excellence in the tourism industry. The awards were presented by the Iowa Tourism Office and the Travel Federation of Iowa at a ceremony April 29 in Des Moines during the 2021 Iowa Tourism Conference.
A total of 25 awards were presented in two groups – rural and metro.
The Mahanay Memorial Carillon Tower was named the Outstanding Attraction among rural award nominations. JM:MS&CC received the award in Outstanding Promotional Material among rural award nominations.
“These awards are a great opportunity to recognize our industry partners for their perseverance in the face of a pandemic,” said state tourism manager Amy Zeigler. “We celebrate their innovations in safely delivering memorable experiences to Iowa travelers.”
