Marie Smith (nee Mabel Marie Rydings) passed away on April 8, 2021. She was born March 10, 1929 to Milo and Gladys Rydings.
She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Herbert Rydings, her sister Eleanor O’Neill, and by her husbands, Dr. Richard Buzard and Dr. Sherwood Smith. She is survived by her sister Beverly Batchellor; by her children Karen Buzard Arbuckle Klein(Walter), Janet Buzard Grossman(Glenn), and Steve Bosshart (Tracy); by her stepchildren Gavin Smith and Braden Smith; by her grandchildren Beth Freeman (Dustin), Angela Coston (Samuel), Elizabeth Brown (Joshua), Chris Bosshart (Sarah), Nicholas Bosshart, and Melissa Frederick (William); and by 12 great-grandchildren.
Marie loved music and was an extraordinary classical soprano soloist. She was a baker, an incredible quilter, an expert seamstress, a superintendent’s office manager for 22 years and afterwards a school board member, a gardener, a bridge-player, a home decorator, and a furniture refinisher. She designed and painted her houses and was always creative.
She loved well. She was loved and will be missed.
The family plans a private graveside service. Memorials may be sent to the Jefferson public library in Marie’s honor.
