Scranton library re-opens with precautions in place

The Marchant Memorial Library in Scranton is open regular hours starting the week.

Patrons do not need to call ahead, but can drop in at any time.

Covid precautions remain in place. All patrons are still asked to wear a face covering while at the library. No in-person programming will be offered until further notice. Employees will continue to wipe down high touch surfaces often and wipe down books being returned before they are re-shelved.

Staff will also continue the curbside delivery option. Patrons can call ahead to have library materials checked out and placed on a bench outside for patron pick up.

Patrons can keep up to date on the newest books and movies the library has to offer by following the library’s Facebook page or checking the library website at www.scranton.lib.ia.us. Patrons can call the library or send a Facebook message to check out one of the new releases (or get on the waiting list). ~Wendy Johnson, director
