The Thomas Jefferson Gardens board will host a second “Meet Your Legislator“ Saturday, March 13, at 10 am. This is the third year the Thomas Jefferson Gardens board has provided this community service.
The forum will be held virtually via Facebook due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Senator Jesse Green and Representative Phil Thompson, both Republicans who represent Greene County, have agreed to attend. The Iowa Senate and House passed their first funnel on March 5. This means legislation that has passed out of committees of both houses may now proceed. The forum will be a time to ask about current legislative bills.
Rick Morain, retired editor of the Jefferson Bee and Herald, will again serve as the moderator for this virtual interaction. Questions for the Green and Thompson may be submitted via Facebook, or to their email addresses to be answered individually at a later time.
- Senator Jesse Green: jessegreen23@hotmail.com
- Representative Phillip Thompson: phil.thompson@legis.iowa.gov
Those who want to be a part of this social media conversation must find “Thomas Jefferson Gardens of Greene County on Facebook and “Like” the page. Saturday at 10 am they must go to the Facebook site, and select “Live Feed.” The event will be recorded and remain available on Facebook after the event.
The TJ Gardens board and moderator once again request participants’ patience. “The first virtual session last month went relatively smoothly, with the only malfunction being muffled voices. The board believes a solution has been identified,” a spokesperson said.
Questions may be submitted via “comments” on the Facebook page.
