Volunteers needed for mass vaccination effort

The Greene County department of public health is recruiting Medical Reserve Corps volunteers to help with an upcoming mass vaccine clinic.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Medical, public and mental health professionals: Doctors, physician assistants, nurses, pharmacist, EMTs, social worker
  • Volunteer coordinators: Organizing meetings and maintaining Medical Reserve volunteers
  • Clerical support: Greeters, registrars, general administrative help
  • Security: Traffic flow, parking, etc

  • Child care: For vaccine clinic volunteers

Greene County public health director Becky Wolf names five benefits of volunteering with the local Medical Reserve Corps: volunteers choose their level of participation; volunteers serve their family, friends, and neighbors; volunteers are part of a team trained to provide medical, public health and mental health support during an emergency; volunteers participate in initiatives that enhance and strengthen public health, such as vaccination and health education programs; and free training.
