Scranton library notes

The adult craft kits were a hit at the library last week. We handed out all of the kits by Friday afternoon. We will be having another kit available this week for making string pumpkins. Please call the library or stop in to get your craft kit while supplies last. Thank you so much to New Way Trucks for sponsoring our adult fall craft kits.

This week’s goal for the Scranton 5-2-1-0 is to drink 0 sugary drinks. Try to drink more water this week. Small changes can make a big difference, so try to implement a healthy goal for yourself each week.

Trick or treating will be held door to door this year in Scranton from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 31. The library will be handing out goodies by the front door of the library, so stop by to get your Halloween treat.

Foot traffic has started to pick up at the library in the last couple of weeks, which is great. Just a friendly reminder, masks are required when visiting the library. If you forget your mask, we have some disposable masks available for you. We also wipe down all books and movies when they are returned to the library and they are also placed into a one week “quarantine” period before they are re-shelved.

As always, please follow our Facebook page, our website at www.scranton.lib.ia.us, or read about our news and events in The Scranton Journal and on GreeneCountyNewsOnline.          Wendy Johnson, library director
