Covid-19 positivity rate falls to 6.9 percent

Greene County has had 167 confirmed cases of Covid-19 as of Friday morning, Oct. 16, according to Greene County public health director Becky Wolf. That’s an increase of three over the Thursday count. There have been 20 new cases in the past seven days, and 10 cases in the past three days. Eighty-four people have recovered; 52 percent had no pre-existing conditions; and 20 percent had no symptoms. There have been no deaths attributed to Covid-19 in the county.  

The average rate of positive cases over the past 14 days is 6.9 percent. Days to double has lengthened to 31 days.

Breakdown for age groups for positive cases:

  • 0-18 years: 14 percent
  • 19-39 years: 34 percent
  • 40-59 years: 34 percent
  • 60-74 years: 16 percent
  • 80 and older: 2 percent

Wolf reminds area residents that Greene County public health will hold a drive-through flu shot clinic Thursday, Oct. 22, from 5 to 7 pm in the Greene County Family Medicine Clinic parking lot. No appointment is needed. She asks persons to wear masks to protect public health staff that will be conducting the clinic.
