Covid-19 numbers continue to climb in county

As of Monday morning, Oct 12, Greene County currently has 157 confirmed cases of Covid-19, reports Greene County public health director Becky Wolf.  Twenty-seven new cases have been confirmed in the past seven days. Seventy-six people have recovered. Of those, 38 had no pre-existing conditions and 16 had no symptoms. There have been no deaths attributed to Covid-19 in the county.  

The average rate of positive cases over the past 14 days has increased to 8.7 percent from 7.9 percent reported last Friday. Days to double has increased to 27.

Breakdown for age groups for positive cases:

  • 0-18 years: 15 percent
  • 19-39 years: 34 percent
  • 40-59 years: 34 percent
  • 60-74 years: 15 percent
  • 80 and older: 2 percent

Wolf reminds all county residents to “mask up” when leaving home and to get a flu shot in the next few weeks.
