In Greene County district court Robert E. Barnard Jr, 54, of Des Moines was sentenced to two days in jail after he pleaded guilty to a charge of domestic abuse assault, amended from domestic abuse assault- display or use weapon. He was fined $65 with a $9.75 surcharge. He must pay $213.25 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $131.50 court costs. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)
Jacob Alexander Roby, 23, of Boone was sentenced to 30 days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana. He will receive credit for time he served on another Greene County case, and the sentence is concurrent to time in a Boone County case. He was fined $315 with a $47.25 surcharge. He must pay up to $600 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $173.33 court costs. (Sentencing: McCarville)
Leeroy Dominic Steadman III, 19, of Churdan was sentenced to one year in jail on a charge of attempt to entice minor without sexual motivation, amended from telephone dissemination of obscene material to minor. All but 45 days of the jail time was suspended and he was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. Steadman was fined $625 with a $93.75 surcharge; both were suspended. The court ruled he is unable to pay sheriff’s room and board fees, restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees or court costs. (Sentencing: McCarville)
Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignment as follows: Justin Ray Lopez, 22, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana- third or subsequent offense, failure to affix a tax stamp and child endangerment; William Russell Griffin, 46, of Rippey, criminal mischief- first degree, stalking (two counts), and trespass causing injury or damage more than $300; and Kayli Jayde Elsberry, 23, of Boone, operating while intoxicated; Karl Maurice Krueger, 27, of Jefferson, OWI. Trial dates were set for Nov. 3 in every case.
Information is available since the return of an arrest warrant that Elejandro Perez Lazaro, 28, of Madrid has been charged with OWI. The warrant was issued June 29 and returned Aug. 19.
Cases were initiated as follows: Trevor Michael Baugh, 24, of Jefferson, domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness, assault while display dangerous weapon, harassment- second degree, and carrying weapons; Jaime Coronado, 41, of Jefferson, OWI; and Marlene Eleanor Anderson, 50, of Jefferson, driving while license barred.
