GrCoHS commencement slated Sunday

Livestreaming available

The Greene County High School Class of 2020 will graduate Sunday, June 28, at Linduska Field.

Graduates were able to select either an individual walk through or a group graduation ceremony to receive their diploma. Those doing the individual walk through may have as many family members attend as they wish. Those doing the group graduation ceremony should bring only their parents or guardians and siblings.

Individual walk throughs will begin at 12 pm. Graduates will line up in the order they arrive. They’ll walk into the stadium with their family members. Family members will go to the bleachers while the graduate walks onto the track and across the stage set up on the 50-yard line. After the graduate receives his diploma he can gather briefly for photos with his family outside the track  area, and then exit the stadium.

For the group ceremony, areas will be taped to indicate appropriate spacing. Families may bring lawn chairs and sit around the perimeter of the track. Graduates will sit on the track. They should be seated by 1:55; the ceremony will begin at 2 pm.

The group ceremony will include speeches by the class president and the class speaker. The class will be presented and each senior will be announced, walk across the stage, and receive his or her diploma.

The Greene Room Events Center at Wild Rose Casino is the rain location.

The group ceremony will be live-streamed by Sebourn Video Services for those who are unable to attend. Click here to watch.

All those who will attend either ceremony are asked to check their temperature before leaving home. Also, persons who aren’t feeling well or have any symptoms of Covid-19 – fever, cough, chills, muscle pain, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea – are asked to not to attend. Anyone who has been in contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19 in the past 14 days should also not attend.
