The Greene County Fair Association invites young women to compete for the title of Greene County fair queen, and to represent the county in the Iowa State Fair queen contest.
Eligible candidates are female, at least 16 years old and not more than 21 years on Aug. 7, 2014. Extra-curricular and volunteer activities are a large part of selection process. A candidate must live in Greene County or in an adjoining county if most of her activities are in Greene County. A candidate need not be a 4-H member, but she should belong to at least one “worthwhile” organization, the nomination form states. A candidate must never have been married or have children.

Applications should be returned by May 23 to Ann Cunningham at 114 S. Wilson in Jefferson. For more information, contact Cunningham at 515-386-8198. Contestants will be notified of times for interviews with judges.
