Greene County High School track and field teams competed at the Boone Classic invitational coed meet Thursday, May 1. The Rams returned home with a second place finish on the girls’ side and a third place finish for the boys.
The Ram girls had first place finishes in four individual events. Eme Johnson won both the 100 and 400 meter hurdles races and Allison Higgins placed first in the 3,000 meter run. In the field, Hannah Onken won in the discus throw.
Team scores for girls were Boone with 122 points, Greene County at 90, Grinnell at 80.5, Webster City at 61.5, and Denison-Schleswig at 38.
The boys had two first place finishes. Daric Whipple won the 400 meter low hurdles and Alex Rasmussen won the shot put.
Team scores among boys teams were Boone with 129 points, followed by Webster City at 63, Greene County at 62, Denison-Schleswig at 60 and Woodward-Granger at 58.
