South Hamilton’s late rally Wednesday resulted in another loss for the Ram baseball team.
The Rams, now 4-10 on the season, were up 3-0 after five innings, thanks in large part to the pitching of starter Brent Riley.
The Rams’ runs came from six hits, three of which came from Tyler Teeples. The Hawks had just five hits on the night, but a four-run sixth inning was enough to put them over the top. Three errors from the Rams’ defense aided South Hamilton’s comeback.
Now on a three-game losing streak, the Rams take a day off before playing Gilbert twice on Friday.
After the softball team’s three-game winning streak the Rams went on at the end of last week’s action, the losing bug has returned.
A second 10-1 loss of the season to the Hawks of South Hamilton was the second loss in a row for the Rams.
Emma Hoyle took the pitching loss, giving up five earned runs and not recording a strikeout. The Hawks had 12 hits on the night and three home runs, while the Rams struggled to connect at the plate, striking out eight times as a team.
The Rams are now 3-10. They also play Gilbert Friday night.
