Greene County High School students Aiden Johnson, Linsey Kitt, Cody Maston, and Mitchell Stevens had the opportunity to attend the Future Ready Iowa Summit taking place in Des Moines at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines on Tuesday.
The purpose of the summit was to bring together policy makers, educators, students, and business and industry to find ways to expand STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education and increase workplace partnerships.
Because of the partnership Greene County Schools has with Accenture (formerly Pillar), the Greene County students were selected to ask questions of Summit keynote speaker Pallavi Verma of Accenture.
The students also had the privilege of meeting Governor Kim Reynolds and listening to former NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson speak about STEM and following one’s dreams.
