Greene County boys, girls place second at Ram Relays

The home teams placed second in both the boys and the girls competitions at the Ram Relays held Monday evening at Linduska Field in Jefferson.

The Carroll boys topped the field with a team score of 139.5 points, followed by  Greene County at 116 and Boone at 115.5. Other team scores were Perry, 65, East Sac County 57, Prairie Valley 37, Kuemper Catholic 16, Greene County JV 8, and Guthrie Center 4.

Senior Roman Phillips set a meet record for the 200 meter dash with a time of :22.39. Phillips also placed first in the 100 m dash in :10.94. Other first place finishes for the Rams were: 400 m low hurdles, Daric Whipple, :59:41; the 4 X 100 m relay (Dylan Hamilton, JC Weitl, Max Neese, Phillips), :45.52; and the 4 X 200 m relay (TJ Lint, Neese, Weitl, Phillips), 1:34.12.

The boys 4 X 110 meter shuttle hurdle relay (Dylan McConnell, Tyler Beger, Jo Doran, Whipple) finished second with a time of 1:06.02, and McConnell placed second in the 110 m hurdles with a time of 16.28. Max Neese finished third in the 200 m dash with  time of 23.25.

In field events, Alex Rasmussen placed second in the shot put with a distance of 47′ 5-1/2″, and Isaac Perez placed second in the discus throw at 127′ 10″. Mitchell Gorsuch placed third in the high jump at 5′ 8″ and third inn the long jump at 19′ 3-1/2″.

The Toreadors of Boone took home the girls title with 168 points, with the Greene County girls at 126. Other girls team scores were Carroll 107.33, East Sac County 77.33, ADM 51.33, Kuemper Catholic 43, Perry 14, and Greene County JV 2.

Allison Higgins placed first in the distance runs, with a time of 5:32.77 in the 1,500 meter and 11:47.84 in the 3,000 m. The 800 m relay (Olivia Hansen, Noelle Gray, Emily Christensen, Hannah Stein) placed first with a time of 10:59.85. The shuttle hurdle relay (Kate Sandage, Fisher, Mollie Sorber, Eme Johnson) placed first at 1:10.85.

Second place finishes were earned by Hansen in the 800 m run, 2:38.45; Johnson in the 100 m hurdles at 16.32; and Hannah Onken in the shot put with a distance of 35′ 1″. Third place finishes were earned by Christensen in the 400 m dash, 1:03.81; Kate Sandage in the 100 m hurdles at 16.34; the 4 X 400 m relay (Hansen, Emma Saddoris, Christensen, Stein) at 4:31.90; Onken in the discus at 108′; and Fisher in the high jump at 4′ 10″.
