The Rippey library board of trustees will host a MEET AND GREET for Rippey librarian
Phyllis Bardole on Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 2:30 to 4:30 pm. Phyllis began her duties on Monday, Oct. 1.

On Sunday, Sept. 30, Sharon Laub hosted a family dinner honoring the birthdays of her sons, Kris and Kurt, in her rural Rippey home. Those attending were Kris and Jennifer Laub and Colby of Johnston, Kurt and Jennifer Laub, and children, Allison and Carter of Ankeny and Mike Laub of Rippey. Regrets were sent from grandson Collin.

On Tuesday, Kris and Mike Laub celebrated with Sharon on her birthday by treating her to lunch in Jefferson. Jean Borgeson was a guest and as always, reminiscing about raising our boys together was a highlight.

Iva Jo Muir was surprised recently when her nephew, Scott Hillman of CO took her to lunch. Scott was in the area for a class reunion in Ames and took some extra time to visit with family and friends in the area.

50th class reunion – Nancy and Dale Hanaman traveled to Simpson College to share in a celebration of the 50 year reunion for Nancy’s class of 1968. Class members and spouses attended from Arizona, Nevada, Missouri and many towns in Iowa.The event was hosted by Andy English of the Simpson Alumni Office as part of the Homecoming weekend events.

Rippey Lions Club – The Rippey Lions Club opened its meeting with a potluck with Dick Bardole as the coordinator. The pancake breakfast in November was discussed with other business and a thank you was received from the Leader Program for a recent donation.

Harlan Den Beste introduced Rick Fazel, who entertained the group, singing folk songs from Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Peter, Paul and Mary and more. The next meeting will be Thursday, Oct. 18, beginning at 7pm with a meal served by the Rippey United Methodist Church women.
