The Jamaica Lions Club presented Patti and Vernon Van Gundy (right) a check for $10,000 for their son Todd Van Gundy at their Nov. 4 meeting. Todd, who lives in Fort Collins, CO, has been treated for cancer and was left paralyzed from the waist down after surgery to removed a tumor on his spine. He is in need of a wheelchair accessible van. The community-wide fundraising effort spearheaded by the Lions Club included a bake sale, raffle, and donations from Todd’s YJB classmmates. Tim McDermott (left) presented the check on behalf of the Lions.
