The Ram varsity volleyball team lost to two Tiger teams at a triangular in Jefferson Sept. 14. Sept. 14 against the Game scores against the Gilbert Tigers were 6-25, 2125, 19-25. Game scores against the Carroll Tigers were 20-25, 20-25, 15-25.
“We struggled to get started, but after the first game we were never out of competition in the following games,” coach Donna Carhill said. “Even though we did not put up any match wins, I saw significant improvement in blocking, and our serving has become steady and aggressive.”
Against Gilbert Samantha Hardaway served at 10 for 10 and had two kills. Megan Durbin served at six for six with one ace and had 14 kills. Aubrey Heupel served at seven for eight with one ace and had 20 assists. Sophia Havens had two kills.
Against Carroll Hardaway served 17 for 20 with one ace. Durbin served eight for eight and had six kills. Heupel served 15 or 18 with two aces. She had 15 assists and six digs. Ashley Millard had two kills and Harleigh Weir had five digs.
“We are still in our early season and work to continue to improve daily, particularly in our offensive options and our back row defense,” Carhill said.
