In Greene County district court Zachery Allen Powell, 23, of Lake City was sentenced to two days in jail March 3 after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated (OWI)- first offense. He can complete a 48-hour weekend offender program in lieu of the jail time. He must also complete the recommendations of a substance abuse evaluation he has already done, and he must complete a community college drinking drivers school.
Powell was fined 41,250 with a $437.50 surcharge, a $10 surcharge for drug abuse resistance education (DARE), and $90 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees. Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: Honorable Adria A. Kester)
Information is available since the return of an arrest warrant that Ryan Christopher Ecklund, 33, of Jefferson has been charged with sex offender registration violation- second or subsequent offense. The warrant was issued Jan. 9 and returned March 8.
Information is available since the return of an arrest warrant that Nastassia Chanel Goff, 32, of Grand Junction has been charged with obstructing prosecution or defense. The warrant was issued Feb. 17 and returned March 7.
Cases were initiated as follows: Jamie Ray Alvarado, 22, of Grand Junction, driving while license barred; Bryan Gene Snell, 31, of Coon Rapids, possession of methamphetamine- first offense, OWI- third offense, and driving while license barred; Michael Allen Kennedy, 52, of Nevada, possession of marijuana- second offense; Michael Allen Olson, 55, of Jefferson, criminal mischief- second degree; and Derek Eugene Ott, 35, of Jefferson, theft- third degree.
