The Rippey United Methodist Church will host a Cabin Fever Family Fun Night Saturday, Jan. 28, at 5 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Hot dogs and maid rites will be provided. Bring snacks to share. Family games for all ages will be available. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Things going on at our library include but are not limited to: new books and movies. There are new books for children and adults coming in, along with newly released movies. The patrons are excited. I’m still working on weekly events for the kids; they seem to enjoy science experiments. I’m also still looking for Legos for kids to start a Lego Club and welcome any donations if your kids have outgrown them. ~by Shawneene Kenan, librarian

Adult Sunday school at 9:30 am; worship at 11 am; THUG youth group at 6 pm. Every Tuesday, quilters at 9 am, coffee and fellowship at 10 am. Every Wednesday, choir practice at 7 pm.
Rippey Lions Club: The Rippey Lions Club met recently with a meal served by Maralynn Rinker and Connie Neese. Plans for the BRR Ride on Feb. 4 were discussed including times for workers, donations of bars, and preparation of the food before and on the day of the ride. Set up will be on Wednesday, Feb. 1 and 2 as needed. Preparation of potatoes and relishes will be at the next Lions Club meeting on Feb. 2.
A memorial donation for Keith Devilbiss to the Leader Dog program was highlighted in the Iowa Lions magazine in the under the Northwest District news. Other contributions were discussed. There will be further discussion on sponsoring a monthly Rippey music night for the community during the summer.
Rick Fazel presented the program and shared about his sound system and how it is used. He shared songs with the group including “Bojangles” and an original composition, “Walk like a Robot.”
The next meeting is Feb. 2. Rachel Sacco is the coordinator for the potluck meal.
