Magistrate court, week ending Nov. 1

In Greene County magistrate court Alexander Calderon of Glidden was found guilty at a hearing Oct. 30 of disorderly conduct. A judgment was entered against him for a $65 fine with a $22.75 surcharge. Court costs were $293.18. Calderon paid $75 of the total due through bond forfeiture, with a remaining judgment outstanding of $305.93. He was found not guilty of criminal trespass; the charge was dismissed.

A judgment was entered Oct. 30 against Phillip Alexander Buenavista of Jefferson on a charge of criminal mischief-fifth degree. Buenavista was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative (LEI) surcharge.

A judgment was entered against Jared Lee Ferguson of Jefferson on a charge of criminal mischief. He was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and a $125 LEI surcharge. Charges of disorderly conduct and interference with official acts were dismissed.

A judgment was entered against Shirley Ann Henry of Boone on a charge of interference with official acts. She was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge. A charge of disorderly conduct was dismissed.

Court costs were $60 unless otherwise noted.

A case was initiated Nov. 1 against Mellissa Ann Sanem of Churdan on a charge of public intoxication.

Persons paid fines for scheduled traffic violations during the week of Oct. 28-Nov. 1 as follows: Justin Scott Cunard of Woodbine, failure to carry registration card, $20; Martin Bernard Tischer of Kansas City, MO, failure to obey stop sign and yield right of way, $100; and *David Lee Bendickson of Grand Junction, failure to maintain control, $100.

Also, speed, $80 (11-15 mph over limit): Robert Dean Peacock of Paton.

Speed, $40 (6-10 over): *Jordan Dean Thomas of Fort Dodge, *Rebecca Lynn Killion of Jefferson, Trisha Jo Geary of Carroll, and Bennett Fay Gaulke of Des Moines.

Speed, $20 (1-5 over): Karin L. Stokke of Dekalb, IL, and James Terrell Tollett of Pittsburg, TX

Judgments were entered against individuals for nonpayment of scheduled fines as follows (original fine listed): Michelle R. McAtee of Bagley, failure to maintain seat belt, $50; Vicki Annette Speake of Colo, speed, $40; Shane Austin Smith of Anthon, failure to prove security against liability, $250; Phillip Alexander Buenavista of Jefferson, possession of alcohol under age, $200; and Jared Lee Ferguson of Jefferson, possession of alcohol under age, $200.

The judgment includes a penalty of one-half the original fine and surcharge.

Court costs were $60 on each citation unless otherwise noted.
