In Greene County district court Trinity Glen Welch, 27, of Jefferson was sentenced Sept. 23 to two years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of driving while license barred. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years. Welch was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge. He must also pay $325 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs. A companion case in magistrate court in which Welch was charged with providing false identification information was dismissed. He must pay $60 court costs in that case. Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignments as follows: Travis Austin Smith, 25, of Jefferson, domestic abuse assault impeding blood/ air flow; and Theodore John Herrick, 36, of Jefferson, driving while license barred. Trial dates were set for Dec. 13 in both cases.
Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Theodore John Herrick, 36, of Jefferson, prohibited act- Schedule II narcotic, two counts; and Ryan James Brown, 44, of Jefferson, criminal mischief- fourth degree.
