Scranton fall clean-up set for Oct. 8

The annual fall clean-up in Scranton is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 8. Folks will need to get up early and get to work to take advantage of the opportunity with the dumpster located in the City Hall parking lot from 6 – 8 am.

Residents who live in the city of Scranton are urged to take this opportunity to clean up their properties. They may dispose of miscellaneous household items, televisions and monitors, residential computer parts, mattresses and box springs, small cut up carpet pieces and scrap lumber pieces and household furniture.

Pick up assistance may be available if volunteers offer to help. Call city hall at 712-652-3888 for information.

Items left curbside will not be collected unless prior arrangements have been made.

Please do not discard these items: appliances, tires, iron, sheet metal, rocks, bricks, dirt, sand, batteries, motor oil, animal carcasses, hazardous materials, medical waste, paint, commercial waste, yard waste, construction materials or shingles.  ~The Scranton Journal
